Teammate Appreciation Week!

We love our team! They show up with courage, purpose, and grit and continuously go above and beyond for both our customers and their fellow teammates. They are an essential part of our company and the success we’ve had can be attributed to them in a very big way. In fact, we think they’re superheroes!

But we know that the day-to-day grind can sometimes mean we forget to say that to them. So, instead of assuming they know, we made sure they did! As March turned into April, the team at IFC got some unexpected surprises to let them know just how appreciated they are.

Thanks to Lynn Russell and Karen Loudon who set everything up (and even provided the capes), Brad Henry, Executive Vice President & General Manager, and Chris Mueller, VP Marketing & Business Manager, were there to not just wear those superhero capes, but to dole out goodies day after day. Brad didn’t mind wearing the cape, noting, “IFC has a rich culture that has embodied a family feel to me.  There was never a hesitation to wear the costume, and it generated a lot of laughter and pictures in the office.” When you can laugh at yourself and take good-natured teasing, you know you’re part of a family. Chris agreed saying, “Wearing a Superhero costume was a fun way for Brad and me to celebrate the true heroes, the IFC Teammates who make everything happen.”

Brad had the same thought. He said, “The real heroes are not me and Chris. The real heroes are our teammates that are here every day supporting our field staff and engaging with our customers. Their relentless passion in their daily activities is what makes this a special place for all of us!” It’s no wonder they wanted to celebrate the team. They clearly deserve the praise and Chris and Brad clearly love doling it out. They also loved handing out the celebration gifts. They ranged from IFC lunch bags to tickets to the Kansas City Royals opening game! Of course, the team was also treated to lunch and for the fourth year in a row came together to break bread while celebrating each other.

The importance of this is not taken lightly. Chris noted, “It is important to celebrate IFC Teammates because our people are the heart of our company. Their hard work, dedication, and commitment are what drives our company’s success every day, and taking time to recognize them is not only deserved, but essential.”

It’s nice to slow down for a moment to acknowledge the team and really make it clear just how loved and appreciated they are. After all, our strength is in our unity, our partnerships, and our teammates. We won’t forget it – and we don’t want them to either.
